PICK-UP
Svalbard
A Zodiac cuts a quiet line across a still fjord. One person on board, red jacket, on the way to collect someone from the shore.
Behind the boat, a mountain holds the entire frame — and below it, the same mountain again, held by the water as a mirror image.
The boat is small. The reflection is whole. The act of picking someone up — practical, ordinary — happens inside a scale that is none of those things.
The image keeps the relation without correcting it.
Single capture from Svalbard. No composite.
Part of the Witness body of work —
images where human presence enters the frame without becoming its subject.
