BLACK SEA
Svalbard
A Zodiac drifts across a perfect mirror. The water reflects the glaciers and mountains so completely that surface and sky become one — soft, weightless, unreal.
The water is just above freezing. A storm is building overhead.
Three states occupy the same frame: beauty, stillness, threat.
None resolves the others. The image holds all three without deciding between them.
Single capture. No composite.
Part of the Stillness body of work —
images where motion has ceased and what remains is not emptiness, but a particular kind of presence.
